Junior Mayors Innovation Challenge invites participants to tackle real-world community challenges in Kingston through a hands-on, team-based program. Inspired by the City of Kingston’s Mayor’s Innovation Challenge, participants work through the Engineering Design Process to identify problems, generate solutions, and prototype ideas that could positively impact their community. Guided by experienced engineers and educators, students develop practical skills in critical thinking, collaboration, project planning, and leadership. Each session emphasizes problem-solving, iterative design, and effective communication, culminating in a presentation where teams share their solutions with peers and mentors. This program provides a meaningful opportunity to apply creativity, engineering, and strategic thinking to real-world challenges.
